Following receipt of the notice from RI dated 11/10/09 below, the ROSNF board decided to remain as a provisional group of Rotarians and Rotaractors working toward becoming a recognized RI fellowship by reapplying to RI in 2 years or by merging with an existing RI fellowship interested in actively supporting the rapidly growing number of Rotarians using Social Networks to promote Rotary fellowship and service.

Unfortunately, I must inform you that the RI Board decided not to recognize the proposed Rotarians on Social Networks Fellowship.  The Board felt that the purpose of your group overlapped too closely with the purpose of two existing Rotary Fellowships: Rotarians on the Internet (ROTI) and the International Computer Users Fellowship of Rotarians. 

My colleagues and I appreciated having the opportunity to work with you on this proposal, and regret that we are unable to bring you better news.  We wish you the best in your continued efforts to promote Rotarians' use of social networking Web sites and encourage you to contact us if we can ever be of assistance.
